Faith Tabernacle Church of Highland Park, MI
On August 19, 1979, Cynthia committed her life to the Lord at the age of 15. Her spiritual birth took place at Calvary Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor James E. Slappy, Jr. Calvary was known for its thorough teaching of the Word of God. Calvary is where she gained much of her biblical knowledge. She served in various auxiliaries inclusive of the Alcoholics for Christ and deliverance ministries while in attendance.
After 13 years, she moved her membership to Dunamis Outreach Ministries where Pastor Reginald M. Lane presides. Dunamis afforded her the opportunity to serve in the college campus ministry, teaching at colleges in the State of Michigan. She completed ministerial classes under this assembly, and in June 1994 was ordained into a leadership position as an Elder. It was at Dunamis that she learned the demonstration of the power of the Holy Ghost.
In 1996, she married Bishop Designate V. Ricardo Thomas, Sr., and moved her membership to Faith Tabernacle Church (FTC) to work with her husband. Since joining FTC, Cynthia has traveled the mission field with her husband ministering the Word of God to those in the country of South Africa. She has become a Certified Biblical Counselor and has held various ministry positions including Director, Christian Education and Chairperson of Iaomai (FTC’s women’s department), member of the Administrative Board, and Church Administrator. She is currently a member of the Elders’ Council; one of the governing bodies of the church. She has recently re-entered Moody Theological Seminary as a recipient of the Urban Scholarship to complete her degree in theological studies. She enjoys operating in the gifts of teaching and administration.
Cynthia’s heartbeat is to advance the Kingdom of God by assisting men and women everywhere in the process of spiritual transformation.
